Aligned with the sounds/blends taught during Year 1, each flashcard focuses on a specific sound or blend. The target letter or blend is displayed prominently at the top of the card, followed by up to six carefully selected words that contain that sound/blend. Each card is paired with two cute, child-friendly illustration,s helping children make meaningful connections between sounds and familiar everyday objects while building vocabulary and decoding skills.
Some sounds have fewer suitable word options, so a small number of cards include a repeated word in the illustration to ensure consistent practice across the set.
