Hi, I'm Kym: Specialist teacher, tutor and the person behind your box.

I created Little People Learning Co so that any parent — no teaching background required — can confidently help their child learn to read at home.

From the classroom to your kitchen table

MyStory

I've spent over 12 years as a primary teacher, including five years working with students with Autism and/or a Mild Intellectual Disability. I hold a Master of Special Education (with distinction) from the University of Newcastle and a Bachelor of Education (Primary) (with distinction) from Curtin University. I'm a NESA Proficient teacher and hold AISNSW Experienced Teacher accreditation.

But the spark for Little People Learning Co didn't come from a classroom — it came from conversations with parents.

In 2019 I founded Little People Tutoring after watching children fall behind in class and slowly lose their love of learning. I wanted to help more students than the ones in front of me each day. Over seven years of tutoring, I kept hearing the same thing from parents:

"I'd love to help them at home — I just don't know how."

That sentence became the brief for everything else I now make.
